Brilliant thoughts in 17 words or less

One of my favorite demotivational posters from the folks at despair.com depicts a sinking ship with the phrase:

It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.
This phrase comes from the fertile and brilliant mind of Ashleigh Brilliant (real name). I strongly recommend visiting his wonderful website or at least checking out the potshot of the day.

Need more proof?

"All I want is a little more than I'll ever get."
"My life has a superb cast, but I can't figure out the plot."
"Appreciate me now and avoid the rush."
"I feel much better, now that I've given up hope."
"If you're careful enough, nothing bad or good will ever happen to you."
"In order to discover who you are, first learn who everybody else is - and you're what's left."
"Life is the only game in which the object of the game is to learn the rules."
"We owe it to our past futile sacrifices to continue making further futile sacrifices."
"Isn't there some way to get the wisdom of hindsight in advance?"
"If I can survive death, I can probably survive anything."

Super Moon

The full moon of March 19th occurred only a hour away from the point when the moon's orbit was at it's nearest point to the earth (perigee). As a result the moon appears 14% larger and 30% brighter. Having a full moon AND a perigee moon last happened in 1993.

I couldn't resist taking a picture last night. I was surprised to learn that I had to adjust the exposure manually because I could not rely on the automatic settings which overexposed the shots.

Check it out:

A most unwelcome guest at my feeder

They are clever and relentless. I had a deterrent system in place using a fence charger but the squirrels managed to remove the wires when it went offline  (GFI tripped). I haven't reinstalled it yet. Even if it were in full operation this guy would be safe since I depend on the upside down feeders to "complete the circuit".

My system is humane and non-lethal. My only purpose is keep these guys from sitting for hours and devouring all the bird seed. I do admit that he is awfully cute.
