Two bug shots for #MacroMonday

One of the good guys in the bug world. One of the fastest insects in the world. Predators of mosquitoes and deer flies. I love them.

Multicolored Asian Lady BeetleHarmonia axyridis (Pallas) - "Halloween Ladybug"

A bit of a pest in my estimation, they are everywhere in October. They have displaced the native ladybugs. They are beneficial because they eat aphids, but are a bit disgusting for home owners. They nip just enough to be felt, gather in every crevice in your house, and reflexively bleed a smelly liquid.
