Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction

Your Amazon purchases help support this blog, Thank You

Last night's fund raising event was a great success. Good food and company, fun auctions and a great antidote for our cabin fever. There are too many photos to fit into a single blog entry so I encourage folks to visit the flickr album I have created called Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction. Photos can be downloaded from the album.

The dinner was held in New Ipswich Congregational Church
Italian Entrees with dessert and even a birthday cake for Lynda

It was nice to see Roger Swain  a former host on the PBS show The Victory Garden from the 1980s to 2001.
Lynda was the head "plant guru" at Agway till her illness prevented her from working.

In addition to the "silent" auction, we were treated to a live auction by Lynda's brother in law Bill Tobin
Bill is well known to Children's Fair attendees

Lynda's grandson's assist with the auction

Lynda's grandson Rohan came up with the idea of donating his hair to "Locks of Love" in honor of his Grandmother.

Rohan was quite poised in spite of so many onlookers

Garden Tour with Lynda

Your Amazon purchases help support this blog, Thank You.

In spite of the glacier that passes for my garden, I'm anxious to think about springtime. In June of 2010, I went on a tour of gardens in the Peterborough area accompanied by my friend Lynda Swenson.

Lynda was the perfect person to be with on our tour. She know design and plantings. We had a great time.

Lynda is the "Head Nursery Guru" at Achille Agway in Peterborough, NH until recently when she was diagnosed with a grade II diffuse astrocytoma brain tumor. Sadly this disease has affect her ability to work.

There will be a fund raising dinner and auction tonight (Feb 27, 2015) to help the family with medical expenses. Here are a few of the photos of our tour back in 2010.

Thawing out in New Ipswich

Your Amazon purchases help support this blog, Thank You.

For the first time in weeks the thermometer pushed past freezing. Sunday was such a welcome relief. The temperature climbed to almost 40 degrees. In late afternoon we did some snowshoeing over Damsite 35, Parker and his friend Lila did some sledding.

Inside the house it feels like Spring, the sun is warm

On Saturday we "won" again
I wish we would lose more often

Mail delivery is challenging

Great day for snowshoes

Long Shadows

Ocean of snow

Parker queues for a snow run

Friday Photo Themes (Pacific Northwest Edition)

Your Amazon purchases help support this blog, Thank You.

My wife is on Vancouver Island visiting relatives and attending a Potlatch for her sister and brother in law. For some stupid reason I chose to stay in the frigid Northeast. I'm not very clever but I do have some photos to share.
