My wife has described her early childhood on the reserve at Ceepeecee, British Columbia. There was no electricity and no running water. The children would play along the coastline. The tide would come in under the homes which were on posts. I believe these undated (1940s or 1950s) photos were taken at that location.

Ceepeecee was the location of a large Cannery and fish processing plant which was built when sardines appeared along the coast in 1925. By  the 1940s the fish disappeared and the cannery was closed. In the mid 1950s a fire destroyed what was left of the cannery.

Playing on the beach, note the walkway on posts
